The VersaPost can be installed with the posts exposed or hidden. With a hidden installation the stringers will be flush with the posts. If the post is going to be visible the stringers can attach on the outside of the post. A hidden installation will take a little longer because the stringers must be measured and cut before installation. Before beginning the fence installation determine whether the posts will be hidden or visible. Follow the appropriate installation instructions below.

Installation instructions for a hidden VersaPost.

Place a clamp on each of two metal VersaPosts. Install the posts with the open C-channel parallel to the fence line.
Place one spring clamp on each post at the proper height.
(Note: Only two clamps are needed to install the entire fence.)
Place the stringer on the two clamps. The stringer will balance on the flat upper surfaces of the two clamps. Cut the stringer so that it fits snugly between the posts.
Place the stringer on the clamps.
The stringer will balance on the flat upper surfaces of the clamps.
(Note: Just two clamps are needed for one person to install all of the stringers.)
Use a long shaft power bit to fasten the stringer to the post with screws inserted through the opening in the c-channel. Use a long shaft power bit to fasten the stringer to the post with screws inserted through the opening in the c-channel.
The pickets are attached to the stringers to complete the fence. Attach the pickets to the stringers.
The pickets can be attached to either side of the stringers.
Unlike a hat-channel post, there is no need to worry about installing the VersaPost "backwards" by mistake.
A fence showing how the easily the VersaPost can be hidden from view. Cover the post if desired using an additional fence board.
The patented* VersaPost is easier to cover than a hat-channel post.
End, corner and gate posts can be covered easily.
With the VersaPost fence post corners are easy. They require no special brackets or clips. Corner posts require no special clips or brackets.
Attach the stringers to the side of the post in the direction of the fence.
The pickets are then installed in the usual manner.
